Bloody Marys, meditation, classical music, egg souffle. Should be a wonderful day for music and studies.
Well written, some ideas to contemplate.
I heard Jack Kornfield use this poem at the end of a mindfullness talk. It resonated with me. I hope it resonates for you. ~TH~
What can I say that I have not said before?
So I’ll say it again.
The leaf has a song in it.
Stone is the face of patience.
Inside the river there is an unfinishable story
and you are somewhere in it
and it will never end until all ends.
Take your busy heart to the art museum and the
chamber of commerce
but take it also to the forest.
The song you heard singing in the leaf when you
were a child
is singing still.
I am of years lived, so far, seventy-four,
and the leaf is singing still.

I love this bit:
“Take your busy heart to the art museum and the
chamber of commerce
but take it also to the forest.“
To quote Miss Oliver both the spiritual and the life of this world need…

The photographs in this post are from a project called Vox Poplar. It is an installation at the Bown branch of the Boise Idaho Library System. Art, typewriter, poetry… stunning in its simplicity.

Greetings! This is a quick message for my readers and followers of this blog. First of all, THANK YOU!
Just a heads up- I have added categories here for BUDDHISM and MEDITATION. I realize many of my followers are here for the typewriter posts which is great. I don’t wish to lose readership, so if you’re only interested in a particular category where I post you can simply use the CATEGORIES option on my site and scroll to your interest. Or better yet…
I use the aggregator FEEDLY for all the blogs I follow. If you don’t use an aggregator you might want to try it out. It is a godsend in keeping your online reading organized. The great thing is, if you only want to populate your feed of a particular blog with posts from a specific category (like say typewriters), you can simply navigate to that category, copy the link, then paste the link into the ADD CONTENT area of the aggregator. Click on FOLLOW – boom, done!
Don’t worry, all of my categories are still viable. I just didn’t want to start another blog for those topics; at least, not yet. I need another blog right now like I need another typewriter (I don’t).
If you have any questions or comments about using an aggregator, feel free to contact me in the comment section of this post. Hugs to all you readers and again, thank you. ~Tom~
When I type at night, I often wish I had a cigarette dangling from my lips, smoke curling upward as I ride the carriage to the right. Alas, it does not agree with me. Bourbon will have to do. Obviously, I would be shades of gray.
