Those of you who follow this blog, rest assured, nothing has gone wrong in my absence. To wit;
- I am still here.
- I am still totally enamored with typewriters.
- I am still totally enamored with letter writing.
- I have recently begun bird watching— that is, birding.
I spent Father’s Day preparing brunch for 4, then cleaning up said brunch while watching Cleveland Indian baseball and re-watching West Wing. Perfect father’s day.
I even prepared a cheese souffle’ — knocked it outa the park (IMHO).
Now outside, listening to Oscar Peterson and reading cookbooks. Typecast coming soon. Smooches. ~TH~
Mrs. M got me into birding a few years ago. Now I spend money on optics as well as typewriters.
I also read cookbooks and like to cook.
Question for both of you: Do you have advice on shutter speed and aperture size for birding? I took some photos in the Everglades the other day. I wanted some action shots, so I would sneak up on blue herons to get them to take off. I figure it’s like sports settings, right? Take a bunch of fast photos and hope for the best.
Everything I’ve shot so far was on auto. Numbers confound me. 😜
I’m working through one of those “For Dummy” manuals. It has some good info. I think it’s trial and error that really helps. What are you using for a camera?
Canon sx560
I asked as if I would understand the answer. 🙄
